Bye bye 2024
After reading Cassidy’s post, I motivated myself and found some free time to share my 2024 highlights as part of my rewind.
Work things
Despite large layoffs at other companies, there have been no significant changes in my work this year; I would describe it as stable. There were no opportunities for promotion, but my efforts have demonstrated that I am capable of reaching the next step.
The home office has been an enormous help and balance in my life. Thinking about it, I believe I only went to the office a few times this past year. I hope to visit the office frequently in the following year.
Last November, we won first place 🥇 in a football (soccer) tournament at the office; nevertheless, the trophy was damaged by a teammate during the celebration 🤦♂️ (luckily, another colleague fixed it 😮💨).
Personal projects
I started my blog at the beginning of this year after being inspired and motivated by other blogs. I used Astro for the very first time. I’ve learned to be disciplined enough to continue working on this project, which I love.
I acquired my new house in the middle of this year, and I’ve been working on it for several months on buying and adding things. I could say that I’ve done a lot of work by myself, with invaluable assistance from my family (a lot of DIY). In addition, I required assistance from professionals in woodworking, blacksmithing, and construction.
Our volleyball team EDS, has won multiple important local competitions and reached to the next category (from third to second category). So we’ll have challenging tournaments in the upcoming year.
About me
The 2024 has been a good year. I’ve learned how to manage, construct, and install things in homes. One thing I want to underline is that I’ve been extremely patient with situations beyond of my control, particularly with the project for my new home.
I’ve made tremendous progress by doing multiple solo travels. I visited Cuetzalán in the spring 🏞️ and Mexico City 🏙️ in the fall. This year’s most memorable personal experience was a trip to Chicago in late fall 🍁, which was one of the best of my life.
In terms of my health, everything has gone well; because of volleyball, I’ve stayed physically active (not as much as I’d want, but it does help).
Reading is something I’ve given up because I’ve had difficulty concentrating while reading books. This is something I need to work on for the new year.
So that’s all?
Yes, a new year begins today, bringing with it fresh opportunities for improvement.
I wish you a happy and successful 2025! 🥂
