Totems

I’ve been catholic my entire life. I’ve kept with the catholic familiar traditions: baptism, first communion, and confirmation (and marriage someday).

Fortunately, when compared to other religions, this one is quite flexible, and during all this time I’ve been practicing it in my own way.

Many catholics adore and pray to statues and figures representing saints, virgins and other religious people. Others light candles to strengthen their faith and have their prayers heard.

I believe it’s a Mexican family tradition (maybe common throughout Latin America) to have figures or totems of these characters their homes and churches.

However, in my life, I’m not an assiduous person to do so, and this doesn’t imply that I’m against the religion or traditions, I want to live it in a way that makes me feel good.
